2、Contains mercury
The mercury has a low boiling point and can evaporate at room temperature. After a broken waste fluorescent lamp is broken, it immediately emits mercury vapor to the surroundings, which can instantly make the mercury concentration in the surrounding air reach 10-20 mg / m3, exceeding the maximum allowable mercury concentration in the air (0.01 mg / m3) 1000 to 2000 times of rice), the human body is in danger of inhaling 2.5 grams of mercury vapor at a time. Moreover, the penetration rate of liquid mercury is extremely high, and when it falls underground, it will immediately penetrate into the ground and pollute the groundwater. Now desperately promoting energy-saving lamps is actually an irresponsible approach to our children and grandchildren.
3、Low life
Energy-saving lamps are divided according to fluorescent powder: mixed powder, halogen powder, three primary colors. The life of halogen powder is 3000-4000 hours; the life of mixed powder is 4000-6000 hours; the three primary colors are claimed to be more than 8000 hours.
4、Ballast quality is low
Most ballasts used in fluorescent lamps cannot give enough power. For example, the author measured that the output power of a ballast used in a 32W fluorescent lamp is only 16W, which is only 50% of the rated power. And the short life of all fluorescent lamps is mainly due to the short life of the ballast, and once the fluorescent lamp is damaged, the ballast is usually damaged. Almost everyone's experience is that the ballast or lamp tube should be changed once a year. Most of the time, it is less than a year, and both must be changed.
5、The price is not cheap
Generally, the price of ceiling lamps ranges from tens to hundreds of yuan. The ceiling lamps of foreign brands cost more than 600 yuan. As for some ceiling lamps with crystal ornaments, the price is as high as several thousand yuan. But at most it is a 40W shaped fluorescent lamp. So ceiling lamps are not as cheap as ordinary energy-saving lamps.
